11. Preliminary Operations |

The following preliminary Field System operations must be executed before any observing session.
At the beginning of the session the SCU panel is already open (if not, please call the operator) and it must always remain open.
A) PREPARE THE ANTENNA FOR THE OBSERVATION AND CHOOSE THE DESIRED RECEIVER
- ANTENNA IN STAND BY :
antenna=setup
[...] → this takes about 1 minute
antenna=track
setup <???> (receiver label)
- ANTENNA IN TRACKING : the first two commands are not necessary
B) CHECK THE SET PARAMETERS AND THE INTERNAL CLOCK PRECISION
. Monitoring commands

| medlo=freq | Gives the set local oscillator frequency (MHz) |
| sy=run setcl | Gives a data stream, the most important is the last one of the first raw : shifting of the time reference from the H-maser signal, in tenthof millisecond |

C) CHANGE, IF NECESSARY, THE RECEIVER STANDARD SETTINGS
| vertex=lofreq <value> (local oscillator frequency, in MHz) | Change the local oscillator frequency (for values and formulas see the individual sections on the receivers) |
| pcaloff | Eliminate the calibration signal inserted every MHz (VLBI phase control) |
