Almost all the Medicina Observatory staff is involved in the project of the Sardinia Radio Telescope (SRT), a parabolic antenna of 64 m diameter under construction in Sardinia (Pranu Sanguni, Cagliari).

Particularly, at the Observatory the following parts are managed and under development :

- Active surface and Servosystems

- Electronics and Receivers

- Control systems and software
